Body Butter vs Body Lotion

What’s the difference between butter and lotion?

Body butter is a rich, creamy formulation designed to deeply moisturize and nourish the skin. Unlike traditional lotions and creams, body butter is thicker and more concentrated, making it perfect for providing intensive hydration to dry and dehydrated skin.

Body butter typically contains a combination of naturally derived butters like cocoa butter, shea butter, or mango butter. This helps to protect your skin from dryness as well as rough or patchy skin. Because it is a heavier product, you don’t need as much. It takes longer to sink into the skin but when it does it is long lasting.

Whereas lotions tend to be light weight and fast absorbing which don’t fully penetrate into the skin. Lotions are also more refined with added preservatives.

Butter is a great choice for dry skin that needs more of an intensive moisturizer.

How to Use our Body Butter: Once you’ve enjoyed your shower or bath, partially dry your body. The trick is to leave it a bit damp. Apply a small amount of butter (a little goes a long way) and gently massage into skin. Let the butter absorb for a few minutes before putting on clothes. The goal is to let the butter “melt” into your skin. If you put on clothes too early, you can get butter on your clothes.

It’s important to note that everyone’s skin is unique. If you have sensitive skin or prone to milia, it’s advisable to patch test and monitor how your skin responds before applying butter regularly.
