How often should you be exfoliating?
Exfoliating your body is an essential step in your skincare routine. Generally, exfoliating 2-3 times a week is ideal to slough off dead skin cells, unclog pores and promote smoother, more radiant skin. If you have sensitive skin, 1-2 times a week might be enough.
Exfoliation helps improve circulation, boosts cell turnover and can even enhance the absorption of other skincare products. Skipping this step can lead to dullness, rough patches and a buildup of dead skin that may cause breakouts or ingrown hairs.
The key is to find the right balance. Over exfoliating can disrupt your skin barrier while not exfoliating leaves your skin dull and unable to absorb moisture properly.
Your skin will know when you’re overdoing it. Look out for signs of over-exfoliation such as redness, dryness, tightness or irritation. If you experience any of these signs, reduce exfoliation immediately.
How to Use our Body Scrub: Start with wetting the skin with warm water to open up the pores. Gently massage a scoop of body scrub onto your skin in circular motions. Don’t press too hard let the scrub do the work. After, rinse off the scrub completely and follow up with your body wash. Pat your skin dry and apply our body butter to lock in hydration.
Ultimately, the best approach is to listen to your skin and adjust your exfoliation routine based on its needs and tolerance.
